Guys.. this is my (not so) secret party dessert. It once was my secret party dessert weapon, but now I’m sharing it with you.

Every time I bring these indoor s’mores bars to a party, potluck, church, etc, people are like “WHAT ARE THESE?!”

S’MORES BARS! Gooey marshmallow, graham cracker and chocolate s’mores bars! Like rice krispies but with graham crackers. This is the ultimate s’mores treat!

My Famous Smores Bar Recipe

Let me introduce you to s’mores rice krispie bars.

It’s like a traditional rice krispie treat but you replace the rice krispie cereal with broken graham crackers. People go nuts for them.

Keeping in tune with true s’mores fashion, we added extra marshmallows and hershey’s chocolate bar pieces to these graham cracker rice krispies.

They are the perfect no bake dessert to bring to parties because you can whip up a whole pan in 10 minutes.

Plus, I think they are better than s’mores bars with golden grahams. Golden grahams cereal can be really sweet. Honey graham crackers have a good plain base like rice krispie cereal.

Smores Bars Recipe Ingredients

  • box of graham crackers, broken into smaller pieces
  • mini marshmallows
  • hershey’s chocolate bars
  • butter

How to Make S’mores Bars

You’ll make these the same way you make rice krispies because the marshmallowy base is the same.

  1. In a large pot over low heat, combine the butter and all of the marshmallows except reserve 1/3 cup for later. Stir until the mixture is melted. Remove the pan from the heat.
  2. Add the broken graham crackers to the marshmallow mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Add in the 1/3 cup of reserved marshmallows and 4 broken hershey’s bars. You could substitute chocolate chips for the hershey’s bars. Stir well to combine.
  4. Evenly press the s’mores bars into the pan and allow them to cool before cutting.

Smores Bar Variations

Here are some delicious s’mores bar variations to try:

  • Substitute golden grahams cereal for the graham crackers.
  • Add 1/2 cup peanut butter when melting the marshmallows.
  • Use chocolate chips instead of Hershey’s Bars.

Want them extra marshmallow-y?

Use two 10 oz bags instead of one 16 oz bag. Reserve 1/2 cup marshmallows to add in at the end when mixing in the chocolate bars.

For a stellar presentation, press some of the chocolate bars and marshmallows on top of the bars once they are in the pan.

S’mores are so good and such a classic summer treat, we wanted to come up with another way to enjoy graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows together. And no fire is required for this recipe!

Smores Bars Recipe Tips

For perfectly gooey bars, melt the butter and marshmallows over low heat to prevent scorching and ensure a smooth texture. Mix gently when adding the graham cracker pieces to avoid crushing it and creating dense bars. For an extra treat, press a few chocolate pieces or marshmallows on top while the mixture is still warm.

Smores Bar Storage

Store S’mores Bars in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days.

Can you freeze s’more rice krispie treats?

Yes, you can! Cut the no bake s’mores bars into squares, then wrap each square with plastic wrap. Be sure to use enough wrap so each bar is thoroughly covered. Then place the bars in a ziploc bag, remove the air and store in the freezer for up to 6 weeks.

To thaw the bars, place the bag on the counter and let it come to room temperature.

  1. So my son wanted smores for his birthday (he turned 4 today). We have a no burn flag right now so I couldn’t do a fire and our fireplace is crap lol. I saw these and had to make them, with his help of course. He loved getting his hands all sticky and dirty with tearing up the marshmallows ( I had the big kind instead). Sadly I messed up and added all the chocolate to the pot and melted it lol, between keeping him from trying to grab the pot, and dog trying to climb my sons step ladder I got distracted.Well to rectify that I put them in the pan, and pressed it down good, then added marshmallows (whole) on top and preheated the oven to 375, threw it in for 5 minutes and then melted down the rest of the un cut chocolate and drizzled it on top. Him and my husband are demanding them to be made again haha. Thanks for this awesome recipe!!

This is perfect to have on a hot summer day when you don’t have or don’t want a bonfire and stay cool. I didn’t have quite the amount of mini marshmallows on hand so I put a pair of kitchen shears in cold water and cut some regular-sized marshmallows in quarters so they wouldn’t stick. A huge hit for my family cookout and church service. God bless you, Beth
