I love St. Patrick’s Day because..
-I LOVE the color green (bonus points for olive green!)
-I am 12.5% Irish
-I love potatoes

We grew up celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with green eggs and ham and green milk. I loved it when I was young, but now I’m not sure I would be as excited to drink green milk!

When I worked as a nanny I would make the kids green pancakes and that was always fun!

I know that McDonald’s shamrock shake will be very popular around St. Patrick’s day – but I’ve never had one! I’m not really a big fan of milkshakes, so this is the perfect green drink to make instead if you’re like me and won’t be running to get a shamrock shake.

Recipes for St. Patrick’s Day

There are so many ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day – with rainbow smoothies, shamrock marshmallows, or rainbow sugar cookies. And the best part is that you don’t have to be Irish to celebrate.

This is the perfect green float to share with family or friends because it requires very minimal effort since you can buy everything at the store!

The lime sherbet floats are delicious and refreshing. I’m usually not a big fan of pop because of the carbonation, but I really enjoyed this beverage because the flavors were awesome!

You can easily scale this recipe up to serve at a party or baby shower!

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts lime sherbet
  • juice of 2 limes
  • 46 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 liters ginger-ale (or you can use Sprite or 7-Up)

Sherbet punch pineapple juice substitutes

If you don’t want to use pineapple juice, you can substitute orange juice, mango juice, peach juice or lemon juice or a combination of these.

Can I add alcohol to lime sherbet punch?

Definitely! For a boozy lime sherbet punch you can add vodka, maybe try a flavored vodka like lemon-lime or mango or you can add rum, try pineapple rum or coconut rum! For an individual lime sherbet float, you can add 1 shot glass, typically 1 to 1.5 oz. For party punch add 3 cups of your chosen alcohol.

For a WOW presentation add a lime slice, sprig of mint, and a cute straw to each glass.

  1. I do something similar using Sunny D (or Orange juice) and Lime sherbet. I prefer the Sunny D myself. The combination is just the right tart, mellow, and cold for Summer.
