Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, and over the years I’ve built quite the collection of spooky treats.

From monster cookies to pumpkin desserts, I wanted to add a punch recipe to the lineup.. something bright red, a little eerie, and of course delicious. T

his spooky eyeball punch is now a staple at our Halloween gatherings. The flavor combination of cran-raspberry juice, fruit punch, pineapple-orange juice, and fizzy ginger ale is refreshing, well balanced, and guaranteed crowd-pleasing.

I tested several punch variations, but this one always gets the best reviews from both kids and adults. It’s easy to make, almost impossible to mess up, and the edible lychee–blueberry eyeballs give it a spooky finishing touch. Some float and some sink, which makes it extra creepy in a punch bowl.

If you’re looking for an adult-friendly version, a splash of vodka, rum, or even prosecco blends beautifully without overpowering the fruity flavors.

What makes this recipe especially approachable is how stress-free it is. Just mix, chill, and serve – no complicated steps, no special equipment. As someone who has spent years testing recipes so you don’t have to, I can confidently say this is one of the simplest ways to impress your Halloween party guests while still serving something that looks festive and tastes fantastic.

Can I add alcohol to Eyeball Punch?

You can add alcohol to this recipe. The amount you add will, of course, depend on how strong you want your punch to be.

Vodka is a neutral alcohol that goes well with any punch. White rum is another great option because it is light and tropical. You could also use sparkling wine/prosecco for something lighter and fizzier.

What are lychees?

Lychees are a tropical fruit known for their rough, reddish-pink skin and sweet, floral flavor. Native to southern China, they are about the size of a golf ball and have a juicy, translucent white flesh that makes them perfect to use as eyeballs.

How to Serve Eyeball Punch

When it comes to serving eyeball punch, presentation is everything! For the ultimate spooky effect, use a large clear punch bowl so your floating “eyeballs” are on full display.

If you want to make it extra spooky, here are a few ideas:

  • Drop plastic spiders in the punch bowl
  • Dip the rims of the glasses in corn syrup and then red sugar or sprinkles
  • Serve in clear cups with glow sticks underneath or wrapped around
  • Swap cups for beakers or small potion bottles

Notes

Where to find canned lychee: Canned lychee is often stocked in the international aisle of larger grocery stores (look near Asian ingredients), or at Asian supermarkets. Many mainstream stores like Walmart, Kroger, or Whole Foods also carry them, usually in cans or jars packed in syrup. You can also find them online through Amazon or specialty retailers.
To Store: Best fresh. Refrigerate leftovers up to 1 day, but the soda will be flat.
To Make Ahead: Do not fully mix ahead. Chill juices and make the “eyeballs,” but add ginger ale right before serving to keep the fizz.
Alcoholic option: For adults, add vodka or white rum to the juice base before the ginger ale. Offer a non-alcoholic bowl separately.
Dry ice safety: Use food-grade dry ice only. Handle with gloves or tongs. Do not swallow pieces; wait until fully dissolved before serving kids.
