You can choose to make all 3 pretzel variations or pick your favorite and make a whole batch of those!
Ingredients for Easter Pretzels
- pretzels
- candy melts
- easter M&Ms
Pretzels: I used mini pretzels. You can also use waffle pretzels or snaps.
Candy melts: Most Meijer and Walmart stores carry Wilton candy melts. I used the bright white color. You can also substitute these for any white chocolate melting wafers.
Easter M&Ms: The Easter colored M&M mix is available after Valentine’s Day in most grocery stores. Look for the light blue bag.
Follow along with our step by step photos of how to make Easter pretzels
Bunny pretzels
Place one candy melt on top of each pretzel. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 2-3 minutes to slightly melt the candy melt. Remove from the oven and immediately add the M&Ms.
Place 1 M&M near the bottom of the pretzel, this is the bunny’s head, then add two M&Ms on their side, these are the bunny’s ears. Allow the candy melts to harden completely before removing the pretzels.
Butterfly pretzels
Place 2 pretzels on top of the candy melt – one on the right side and one on the left side. Place another candy melt directly on top of where the pretzels meet. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 2-3 minutes to slightly melt the candy melt. Remove from the oven and immediately add the M&Ms.
Place 2 M&Ms in the center of the candy melt, this is the butterfly’s body. Then add 2 broken pretzel pieces as antennas. Allow the candy melts to harden completely before removing the pretzels.
Flower pretzels
Place one candy melt on top of each pretzel. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 2-3 minutes to slightly melt the candy melt. Remove from the oven and immediately add the M&Ms.
Place 1 M&M in the center pretzel, this is the center of the flower. Next, add six M&Ms around the center M&M. Some of the M&Ms may have to overlap to fit, these are the flower petals. Allow the candy melts to harden completely before removing the pretzels.
Expert tips
- Sort the M&Ms by color. This will make it easier when assembling.
- Line your baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper for easy clean up.
- Place the “M” side down for a cute, clean presentation.
- Work quickly adding the M&Ms once the candy melts are melted. Working in batches is best!
- Focus on making all of one thing at a time – so all the bunnies, flowers or butterflies.
- Allow the candy melts to harden completely before removing the pretzels from the tray.
