We’re back with another out of the kitchen post – here’s what we’ve been up to for the month of February!

February was a month! 1 week before we left for our Caribbean cruise, I got a viral ear infection. Which lead to a nasty bout of vertigo. I had never experienced it before. Between going to the doctor and physical therapy, there wasn’t much they could do for me since it was viral. I was couch bound for the week, but I snapped a photo of Ryan. He always steps up, helps so much, and loves me well when I’m not feeling good.

During that same week we had bizarre weather. Tons of ice first, then LOTS of snow! In general this has been a really rough Michigan winter. The second photo – it was fun to see creations of our super bowl recipes from readers and followers! I always enjoy seeing how you guys make them!

The biggest thing we did in February was take a 7 day cruise to the western caribbean! It was our first vacation in 6 years, so we learned a lot and would probably do things differently in the future – for a full cruise recap head to my instagram and click the highlight story labeled “cruise review”. The first photo is overlooking the central park area on the ship. We sailed on the Symphony of the Seas from Royal Caribbean. The second photo – we took a sushi making class on the ship. We learned that the consistency of the rice is key.

The first photo- a view of the boardwalk on the ship at night! The 2 slides you see in the background are called the Abyss – they are 10 stories! Ryan went down it one day, but I opted to skip it. Going down a 10 story slide on an already rocky ship sounded terrible ???? The second photo is from our day at the beach in Roatan Honduras. It was beautiful and really hot! We also went snorkeling which was my favorite part of the whole trip.

The first photo- on our second excursion we went on a segway tour in Costa Maya. Ryan and I really like seeing cities via segway, we’ve done it twice before. Another very hot day, this midwest girl wasn’t prepared for the heat! The second photo- the ship had amazing entertainment each night. This is a photo from the aqua theater performance. It involves water, dancing, acrobatics, diving, and was awesome!

The first photo- a picture on the boardwalk during the day! This is an iconic spot on the ship. The second photo- our 4th port day as in Nassau Bahamas and we went to Atlantis Resort. It was BEAUTIFUL! Everywhere you looked it was picture perfect.

The first photo- from Atlantis, we were suppose to have a dolphin interaction hence the sweet wet suits but the dolphins weren’t cooperating so we did a lot of waiting instead. Overall, we enjoyed the trip! Some parts were stressful (my anxiety flares when traveling) but we learned a lot about how we’d want to vacation in the future ie. probably not cruising! The second photo – Salsa did not leave my side for 24 hours once we got home from vacation. He missed us a lot!

It felt really good to get back into the groove, although post vacation recovery is totally a thing. I think I slept for 18 hours once we got home. I made birthday cookies for one of my nieces and sent those to Minnesota. We also had a delicious spaghetti dinner with gluten free garlic bread. After eating the same thing on the ship for 7 days, this meal was glorious.

You can’t really tell from this picture, but I broke my glass jar of foundation and it went flying all over the bathroom. I have since purchased another bottle and am so careful. I thought about putting it in bubble wrap. At $50 a container, it isn’t cheap! The second photo – another picture of Salsa snuggling with me. This is how he snuggles, with his tail in my face.
