Two layer green monster orange smoothie – healthy and easy to make! Top the smoothie with a fruit skewer.
Two layer green monster orange smoothie - healthy and easy to make! Top the smoothie with a fruit skewer. I’m not a huge fan of “new year’s resolutions”.

Ask anyone and they will tell you that I am a very determined person. Why push something off if I can do it now? Why do it starting in January if I can do it today?

I don’t really get why I should indulge and go crazy eating all this stuff during the holiday season – because I can do that everyday. HAHAH. Just kidding. What I mean is, everything in moderation. The amount of sweets I eat in December is the same amount I eat in March. A small brownie or bowl of ice cream will do. Am I crazy or are other people like this?!

Even though I’m sharing this awesome smoothie recipe, it won’t be replacing my nightly dessert (because I’m 100% sure that chocolate does the soul good). This smoothie would more likely replace my daily yogurt or my post work out granola bar. Gosh, I am so predictable.. my daily yogurt, am I old?! But I will argue that yogurt is good for the digestive system :)

It’s a green monster orange smoothie. 2 layers of healthy goodness!

The green monster layer has frozen banana, pineapple, mango, lots of spinach and a little bit of water or milk for blending. The orange layer has frozen banana, orange, mango, carrots, and orange juice. 2 VEGETABLES in total woohoo!! Layer the two together and you get something magnificent!

  1. This looks amazing! I’m the same way about “resolutions”, why not start today ? I don’t need a new year to make me start something or change my goals!

  2. My kids love smoothies but I never really make them for myself. But this one is calling to me! I can’t wait to try it! Your pictures are beautiful too! :)

  3. I definitely agree, this smoothie is so much fun! Love the colors and layers. I don’t believe in resolutions either. If I try to limit myself with a “healthy diet” I will go crazy and end up splurging, which is so not good for you. Everything in moderation is the ultimate key! Happy New Year, Beth!

  4. Happy New Year, beautiful Beth!  I just want to say that I love everything about these smoothies and especially the way you layered them! Fantastic!

  5. I LOVE the flavors in this smoothie! And who knew that a smoothie could look that good? I’ll be adding this to my morning rotation of smoothies. So good!

    1. Usually the smoothie will be thicker is you use frozen fruit and I like mine thick – but you don’t have to use frozen fruit.
