This easy-to-make vanilla frosting is the ultimate dessert baking staple that perfectly pairs with your favorite cake, cookies, cupcakes, or brownies. Make it in one bowl in just 10 minutes.
Gradually add powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk or cream, mixing on low until smooth. Adjust sweetness by adding more powdered sugar if desired. If too thick, thin with 1 additional tablespoon of milk or cream.
2-3 cups (227-339g) powdered sugar, 1-2 Tbsp heavy cream or milk
If you want to add food coloring, do so now.
If you want an extra fluffy frosting, add in 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream when adding the last bit of powdered sugar. Whip for 3-4 minutes.
Notes
This frosting recipe makes enough frosting to frost 12 cupcakes or a two layer 8 inch cake.
