Geometric Cork Board

Geometric Cork Board
Cork boards are very versatile. I had been wanting to get my hands on some large ones for a while, and when we went back to Minnesota in May, my mom and I found 2 large ones in her garage – score! I took them home with me and started brainstorming and fell upon some geometric ideas.

Well, the whole brainstorming process didn’t last long, because I am the type who will just jump into a craft project without knowing exactly what I want to do. If it goes well, great, and if not, I will re-paint or re-use it, or place it nicely near the dumpster for someone else to use. Which by the way, I have found some nice things near our dumpster.. take a little, give a little :-)

So, I started taping and painting.

I gave each color 2-3 coats and used the acrylic paint I had on hand. Make sure to wait until the paint is dry before removing the tape.

I didn’t plan out where I was going to put each element, I just eye-balled it until it felt balanced.

Want to re-create this project? You’ll need..
-A cork board
-Paint, I used acrylic
-Paintbrush
-Painter’s tape or masking tape

Next, find some push pins and start adding the things you want to display.

See that adorable picture? That’s my baby niece, my sister put her on an American Girl Doll bed for the photo shoot. And the awesome monkey hand is from my other niece!

Well, there you have it – a geometric cork board!
